Removal Procedure
- Raise the hoist until it just contacts the vehicle body, without raising the vehicle. With all four tires on the ground, maintain the vehicle as close as possible to it's normal height. If the tires are lifted off the ground , the depressurizing command will not function. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
- Depressurize the air suspension system. Refer to Air Suspension System Depressurization and Pressurization .
- Continue to raise the vehicle to a workable height.NOTE:
After depressurizing the air springs and compressor there will still be some residual pressure present. Do not quickly disconnect air tube fittings.
- Slowly loosen the air tube fitting from the air spring until the air is leaking from the fitting and then stop. Allow all of the system air to leak out of the air springs and air compressor.
- Remove the fitting (1) from the rear air spring (2).
- Release the 2 retaining clips (2) from the upper rear spring seat (1).
- Collapse the rear air spring (1) and remove it from the rear lower control arm.
WARNING:
Do NOT remove an air compressor tube in an attempt to depressurize the air suspension. Always follow the Air Suspension Depressurization Procedure in Air Suspension. Failure to follow this procedure may cause personal injury or damage to the air compressor and/or air spring tube fittings.
