Re-Initialization/Teach Procedure, Manual Method, Reinstallation

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2013 Cadillac XTS. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Perform the initialization/teach procedure at first operation test of the sunroof. Ensure the electrical harness on the headliner is connected to the large roof, battery power is applied, the ignition switch is on, and the engine is running. The sunroof/sunshade may be re-initialized independently of each other. If initializing both motors, it is better to initialize the sunroof motor first.

  1. Press the sunroof switch to the close position until the window reaches the close soft stop position and then release the switch.
  2. Press and hold the sunroof switch in the close position for at least 10 seconds. The motor will resume motion and continue to travel until it stalls at the front hard stop.
  3. Press the sunshade switch to the close position until the sunshade reaches the close soft stop position and then release the switch.
  4. Press and hold the sunshade switch in the close position for at least 10 seconds. The motor will resume motion and continue to travel until it stalls at the front hard stop.
  5. Verify the operation of the sunroof.

The initialization teach procedure is not completed if one of the following events occurs before the initialization/teach cycle is done:

If the initialization/teach procedure is not carried out completely, the procedure has to be started again.
