Removal Procedure

WARNING: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning .
CAUTION: To prevent equipment damage, never connect or disconnect the wiring harness connection from the EBCM with the ignition switch in the ON position.
  1. Turn the ignition OFF.
  2. Remove the plenum front panel. Refer to Plenum Front Panel Replacement .
  3. Thoroughly clean the electronic brake control module (EBCM) to brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV) area of any accumulated dirt and debris.
  4. Disconnect the EBCM electrical connector.
  5. Disconnect the left front brake pipe fitting (1).

  6. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  7. Disconnect the right rear brake pipe fitting (2).
  8. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  9. Disconnect the left rear brake pipe fitting (1).

  10. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  11. Disconnect the right front brake pipe fitting (2).
  12. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV outlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  13. Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve secondary brake pipe fitting (1).

  14. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  15. Disconnect the brake pressure modulator valve primary brake pipe fitting (2).
  16. Cap the brake pipe fitting and plug the BPMV inlet port to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.
  17. Remove the BPMV bracket nuts (1).

  18. Remove the BPMV assembly.
  19. Remove the BPMV bracket bolt (1).

  20. Carefully separate the BPMV assembly from the bracket.
