Preliminary Procedure Remove the radiator surge tank. Refer to Radiator Surge Tank Replacement (LFX, LF3) .
1	Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Retainer Procedure Remove the sensor retainer from the thermostat housing. NOTE: Ensure that the sensor is properly seated and the sensor retainer is completely inserted after installing the sensor.
2	Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Procedure Disconnect the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector. Reposition the engine wiring harness and hoses as needed.
3	Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Seal NOTE: The sensor O ring seal should be replaced whenever the sensor is removed.
