Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Callout Component Name

Preliminary Procedure

  1. Raise and properly support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (CTS)Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (CTS-V) .
  2. Remove the front compartment lower noise shield. Refer to Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (AWD)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (RWD)Front Compartment Lower Noise Shield Replacement (V - Series) .
  3. Remove the starter. Refer to Starter Replacement (LTG) .
1 Crankshaft Position Sensor Fastener
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


Tighten 
10 N.m (89 lb in)
2 Crankshaft Position Sensor

Procedure

  1. Disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector from the crankshaft position sensor.
  2. If installing a new sensor, perform the crankshaft position system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position Variation Learn .
