Component Testing: Capacitor

Set ohmmeter on x1000 scale. Disconnect capacitor. Touch ohmmeter leads to capacitor terminal and ground. Ohmmeter needle should move slightly, then return to infinity. Any continuous reading other than infinity indicates a defective capacitor.
