Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
2. Remove air cleaner and disconnect upper radiator hose and heater hoses from intake manifold.
3. Remove EGR valve.
4. Disconnect fuel line, wiring, vacuum hoses and linkage from carburetor.
5. If equipped with A/C, perform the following:
a. Remove radiator upper support, alternator and A/C drive belts.
b. Remove fan, pulley and timing belt cover.
c. Position A/C compressor aside.
d. Raise vehicle and remove the lower A/C compressor bracket.
e. Lower vehicle and remove the upper A/C compressor bracket.
6. On all models, remove ignition coil and position aside.
7. Remove intake manifold attaching bolts and the intake manifold.
8. Reverse procedure to install.
