Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Vehicle Speed Sensor Locations:

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT:

1. Harness connector (101).
2. Bolt (129) if used.
3. Vehicle speed sensor (127). Catch fluid with container.
4. O-ring seal (126).


INSTALL OR CONNECT:

1. New speed sensor (127) and O-ring seal (126). Coat the seal with a thin film of transmission fluid
2. Bolt (129) if used.
3. Tighten bolt to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.) for automatic transmission or 5 speed Borg Warner.
4. Tighten bolt to 31 Nm (23 ft. lbs.) for New Process 231 transfer case.
5. Harness connector (101) and refill fluid as required.
