Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

CAUTION: Tknock sensor is installed into the engine block where it protrudes into a cooling passage. Engine coolant may be hot. It is a good practice to drain the coolant into a clean container, for storage and re-use, before servicing the knock sensor(s).

When replacing knock sensor, be sure threaded area of block and sensor is clean. DO NOT USE THREAD SEALER.

Tighten sensor to 19Nm (14 ft.lbs).
