Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.
2. Raise the vehicle and suitably support it.
3. Disconnect the KS wiring harness connector from the knock sensor.
4. Remove the knock sensor from the engine block.

Installation Procedure
1. Clean the threads thoroughly. Install the knock sensor into the engine block. Tighten the knock sensor to 16-22 Nm (143-196 lb in).
2. Connect the KS wiring harness connector to the knock sensor.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
