Programming New Module
NOTE:
New module can only be programmed once. Verify customer's code prior to programming to ensure key code is correct. On RPO 9C3 and 9C6 vehicles, module must remain unprogrammed.
- With new theft deterrent module installed and connected, insert customer's key into ignition key lock cylinder and turn ignition switch to RUN position. Start engine to verify system operation. If engine starts, go to next step. If engine does not start, see appropriate No Start test under SYMPTOM TESTING .
- Observe SECURITY indicator light. Indicator light should illuminate for about 5 seconds and go out. This indicates module programming has been successfully completed. If indicator light flashes once per second and engine starts, module did not program. Check wiring, connectors, contacts to key resistance pellet, and key for defects or intermittents. Repair or replace as necessary and repeat programing procedure.
