Starter Runs Continuously With Ignition Switch In Lock

POSITION

  1. Locate relay block cassette attached to junction block No. 1 located behind left kick panel. Remove starter relay from relay block cassette. If starter continues to operate, go to next step. If starter does not continue to operate, go to step 3) if vehicle is equipped with A/T, or step 4) if vehicle is equipped with M/T.
  2. Check for a short to voltage in Black wire between relay block cassette and starter solenoid. If Black wire is okay, replace starter solenoid and retest starter operation. After retesting starter operation, if starter continues to operate, replace junction block No. 1.
  3. If vehicle is equipped with A/T, check for a short to voltage in Black/White wire between ignition switch and PNP switch or in Black wire between PNP switch and relay block cassette. If Black/White and Black wires are okay, replace starter relay.
  4. If vehicle is equipped with M/T, check for a short to voltage in Black wire between CPP switch and relay block cassette. If Black wire is okay, replace starter relay.
