Description & Operation: Notes

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system is controlled by Remote Function Actuation (RFA) system. RFA system allows transmitter remote control of various vehicle systems without physical contact of switches on vehicle.

RFA system locks and unlocks vehicle doors and liftgate, turns on interior lights and closes power sliding door (if equipped). RFA system also controls vehicle alarm (if equipped). RFA system will sound horn, turn on interior lights and flash parking lights if alarm is triggered.

When transmitter is activated, transmitter sends a digitally coded signal to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) located under instrument panel upper trim. RCDLR sends a command to Body Control Module (BCM) to carry out desired function. For power sliding door operation, RCDLR sends a direct signal to power sliding door.
