Park/Neutral Position (PNP) Switch

This switch is connected to transmission gear selector and signals PCM/VCM when transmission is in Park or Neutral. PCM/VCM uses this information for determining control of ignition timing, Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) and idle speed. To check function of PNP switch, perform functional check of switch. See SYSTEM/COMPONENT TESTS article.
