Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
2. Disconnect the park/neutral position switch electrical connector.





3. Remove the park/neutral position switch bolts.
4. Remove the park/neutral position switch from the transmission control.

Installation Procedure





1. Ensure that the transmission control is still in the NEUTRAL position.
2. Install the tang on the park/neutral position switch, into the slot on the transmission control.
3. Adjust the park/neutral switch. Refer to Park/Neutral Position Switch Adjustment.





4. Connect the park/neutral position switch electrical connector.
5. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators.
