CAUTION:
When battery is disconnected, vehicle computer and memory systems may lose memory data. Driveability problems may exist until computer systems have completed a relearn cycle. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in
GENERAL INFORMATION before disconnecting battery.
WARNING:
Deactivate air bag restraint system before performing any service operation. See appropriate
AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. Do not apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
NOTE:

The Multifunction Alarm Module (MAM) controls a battery run-down protection feature. MAM also controls the audible warnings system. MAM sounds a chime under the following conditions:
- Key is in ignition switch with door open.
- Headlights or parking lights are on with door open.
- Seat belt is not fastened with ignition on.
