Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2001 GMC Safari and 2001 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Before reinstalling Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). Clean BPMV to EBCM mounting surfaces with a clean cloth. Area around pump assembly must be free from loose dirt to prevent contamination of ABS components.
NOTE: DO NOT reuse old mounting screws. Always install new mounting screws with new EBCM.
NOTE: DO NOT use RTV or any other type of sealant on EBCM gasket or mating surfaces.
  1. Install 4 new T-25 TORX(R) screws (1) in EBCM. Tighten 4 T-25 TORX(R) screws to 39 lb in (5 N.m) in an X-pattern.
  2. Connect electrical connectors to EBCM.
  3. Secure module to frame bracket and fuel pipe shield with two nuts
  4. Revise tire calibration using Scan Tool, Tire Size Calibration function. Return to appropriate Diagnostic System Check.
