Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2002 GMC Safari and 2002 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Important:  Do not reuse the old mounting screws (1). Always install new mounting screws with the new EBCM.

Important:  Do not use RTV or any other type of sealant on the EBCM gasket or mating surfaces.

  1. Install EBCM (2) on to the BPMV (5).
  2. Install the 4 new T-25 Torx® screws (1) in the EBCM (2). Tighten the 4 T-25 Torx® screws to 5 N.m (39 lb in) in an X-pattern.
  3. Connect the electrical connectors to the EBCM.
  4. Secure the module (1) to the frame bracket (3) and fuel pipe shield (2) with the two nuts (4).
  5. Revise the tire calibration using the Scan Tool Tire Size Calibration function.
  6. Return to Diagnostic System Check - ABS .
