Manual Transmission Servicing: Identification

Identification tag for ZF S6-650 6-speed transmission is located on left side of case. All other transmissions are stamped with a VIN code or derivative. Transfer cases can be identified by a tag attached at rear of case. Tag provides transfer case model number, low range reduction ratio and assembly number.
