Test H: Keyless Entry System Inoperative
- Check BCM for DTCs. If DTCs are present, repair as necessary first. See SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM .
- Remove key from ignition lock cylinder. Close all vehicle doors. Press LOCK and UNLOCK buttons on both front door lock switches. If all doors lock and unlock with door switches, go to next step. If all doors do not lock and unlock with door switches, see appropriate POWER DOOR LOCKS article.
- Disconnect Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR). Using a test light, connect between RCDLR connector terminal "A" and "C". See Figure . If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, go to step 5 .
- Check RCDLR connector for poor connections. If problem was found, go to step 10 . If problem was not found, go to step 8 .
- Using a test light, connect between RCDLR connector terminal "C" and ground. See Figure . If test light is on, go to next step. If test light is off, go to step 7 .
- Repair open or poor connection in Black wire between RCDLR and ground G200. Go to step 10 .
- Repair open or poor connection in Orange wire between RCDLR and underhood accessory wiring junction block. Go to step 10 .
- Perform keyless entry transmitter test. See TRANSMITTER TEST under COMPONENT TESTS. Test keyless entry system. If keyless entry system does not operate, go to next step. If keyless entry system does operate, system is okay.
- Replace RCDLR. See REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program transmitters. See TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING under PROGRAMMING.
- Operate system to verify repair.
