Vehicle Speed Sensor - M/T (Speedometer Mounted)

The VSS uses a reed switch and magnet. Magnet turns with speedometer cable, causing the reed switch to turn on and off, creating a digital voltage reading. On/Off frequency varies with speed of vehicle. The PCM converts the digital signal into a vehicle speed reading. For component location, see Figure.
