Crankshaft Position Sensor

The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is an A/C voltage signal generating sensor. PCM uses signal to determine crankshaft TDC (for ignition timing) and fuel injection pulse. PCM uses CKP signal to determine ignition and fuel injector sequence and injector pulse width. If no CKP signal is received by PCM there will be no fuel injection or ignition spark. For component locations, see Figure or Figure .
