Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CRANKSHAFT POSITION (CKP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Disconnect the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor electrical connector (2).
3. Remove the CKP sensor retaining bolt (3).
4. Remove the CKP sensor (1).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the CKP sensor (1) into the oil pan.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the retaining bolt (3).

Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolt to 6 N.m (54 lb in).

3. Reconnect the CKP sensor electrical connector (2).
4. Lower the vehicle.
