Remote Keyless Entry Systems
CAUTION:
DO NOT operate or program transmitters in vicinity of other vehicles that are in keyless entry program mode. This prevents programming of transmitters to incorrect vehicle.
NOTE:
All transmitters which are to be recognized by Remote Control Door Lock Transmitter (RCDLR) must be programmed in a single programming sequence. Up to 4 transmitters can be programmed. If system is placed in program mode it will erase all previously programmed transmitters upon receipt of programming signal from first transmitter.
NOTE:
For features and customization setting procedures for Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system, see FEATURE CUSTOMIZATION MODES

- Remove ignition key from ignition switch. Remove BCM PRGRM fuse located in instrument panel fuse block. Close all doors and liftgate. Insert ignition key into ignition switch. Turn ignition switch to ACC position. Body Control Module (BCM) will identify type of BCM installed by chiming 2, 3 or 4 times and by flashing seat belt indicator 2, 3 or 4 times.
- Turn ignition switch to LOCK position, then back to ACC position within one second. BCM may begin to chime and flash DTCs. If BCM has stored any DTCs, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Open, then close any vehicle door. A chime will be heard when system enters BCM programming mode.
- Press and hold transmitter LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously for 14 seconds. BCM will chime a second time to confirm that programming has been completed.
- Repeat previous step to program additional transmitter(s). When all transmitters are programmed, remove ignition key from ignition switch. Install BCM PRGRM fuse in instrument panel fuse block. Operate functions of each transmitter to verify correct system operation.
