Test A: Body Control Module Inoperative: Testing
- If Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic system check has not been performed, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. If BCM diagnostic system check has been performed, go to next step.
- Test BCM harness connectors battery voltage and ignition voltage circuits for an open. See appropriate POWER DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. See Figure . If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Test BCM harness connectors ground circuits for an open. See appropriate GROUND DISTRIBUTION article in WIRING DIAGRAMS. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Inspect for poor connections at BCM harness connectors. If no problem is found, go to next step. If problem is found, repair as necessary. After repair, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
- Replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Program feature customization settings. See ENTER FEATURE CUSTOMIZATION MODE under PROGRAMMING. After repair, perform BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM.
