Remote Keyless Entry Diagnostic System Check

  1. Attempt to enter Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic mode. If BCM enters diagnostic mode, go to next step. If BCM does not enter diagnostic mode, go to BODY CONTROL MODULE DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK  in BODY CONTROL MODULES - MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
  2. If BCM displays any DTCs, go to next step. If BCM does not display any DTCs, repair Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) system by symptom. See SYMPTOM INDEX  table under SYSTEM TESTS.
  3. If BCM displays DTC 8, go to DTC 8: REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEM  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS. If any other BCM DTCs are displayed, perform appropriate test(s).
