Removal & Installation

  1. Powertrain Control Module (PCM) is located in air cleaner housing. Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove fastener from coolant tank. Remove coolant tank and set aside. Remove 3 bolts from support brace and remove brace. Disconnect Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor harness connector. Loosen 2 clamps on air intake duct/MAF sensor assembly. Remove air inlet duct/MAF sensor assembly.
  2. Unsnap 2 air cleaner housing cover latches. Remove air cleaner housing cover. Remove air filter element. Unsnap latch on upper cover. Remove upper cover.
  3. Remove 2 PCM cover bolts. Remove PCM cover. Remove PCM. Disconnect PCM harness connectors. To install, reverse removal procedure. After repair, program PCM. See POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE under PROGRAMMING in BODY CONTROL MODULES - MONTANA, SILHOUETTE & VENTURE article.
