Installation Procedure

Important:  The instrument panel will rest off of the lower mounts when you lower the instrument panel. This will aid in the routing of the wiring harness. Prop the instrument panel up in order to route the harness, as needed.

1. Perform the following steps in order to install the instrument panel (2) to the body:
   1. 1.1. Secure the top retainers.
   2. 1.2. Lower the instrument panel (IP).
2. Install the IP wiring harness. Refer to IP Harness Replacement .
   NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .
3. Install the bolts/screws (1) to the IP body (3).

   Tighten 

   Tighten the bolts/screws to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

4. Install the data link connector. Refer to DATA LINK CONNECTOR REPLACEMENT .
5. Install the headlamp switch. Refer HEADLAMP SWITCH REPLACEMENT .
6. Install the IP upper trim. Refer to Trim Pad Replacement - IP Upper .
7. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to GARNISH MOLDING REPLACEMENT - WINDSHIELD PILL .
8. Install the switch bank. Refer to MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH REPLACEMENT - OVERHEAD C .
9. Install the heater A/C controls. Refer to HVAC CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT .
10. Install the audio system. Refer to RADIO REPLACEMENT .
11. Install the front floor console bracket. Refer to Bracket Replacement - Console Floor .
12. Install the front floor console. Refer to Console Replacement - Front Floor .
13. Install the hood release handle. Refer to Hood Release Lever Replacement .
14. Install the steering column. Refer to STEERING COLUMN REPLACEMENT .
15. Install the IP cluster. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Description and Operation .
16. Install the underhood electrical center. Refer to UNDERHOOD ELECTRICAL CENTER OR JUNCTION BLOCK .
17. Install the inflatable restraint IP module. Refer to INFLATABLE RESTRAINT INSTRUMENT PANEL MODULE .
18. Install the IP compartment. Refer to Compartment Replacement - IP .

19. Install the IP accessory trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - IP Accessory .
20. Install the knee bolster. Refer to Knee Bolster Replacement .
21. Install the left closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Left .
22. Install the right closeout/insulator panel. Refer to Closeout/Insulator Panel Replacement - Right .
23. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE DISCONNECT/CONNECT PRO .
24. Enable the SIR system. Refer to ENABLING THE SIR SYSTEM .
