Installation Procedure

    Fig 1: Battery Insulator

  1. Install the battery insulator to the battery.
    2. Fig 2: Battery, Retainer & Bolt

    IMPORTANT: Do NOT tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.
  2. Install the battery (3) to the battery tray.
  3. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).
    4. NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.
  4. Install the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).

    Tighten:  Tighten the bolt to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).

  5. Connect the positive battery cable.

    Tighten:  Tighten the terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
  7. Install the RH fender diagonal brace. Refer to Brace Replacement - Front Fender Upper Diagonal in Body Front End.
