Installation Procedures

  1. Install the starting motor through the front area of the engine compartment between the generator and the inner fender. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Install the mounting bolts. Tighten the starter motor mounting bolts to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Lower the vehicle. Connect the positive battery cable to the starter solenoid. Secure with the nut. Tighten the starter solenoid nut to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Connect the starter solenoid electrical connector. Connect the negative battery cable. Tighten the negative battery cable-to-negative battery terminal retainer to specifications. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
