Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure .
    2. Fig 1: Rotating Drive Belt Tensioner Counterclockwise

  2. Rotate the drive belt tensioner counterclockwise.
  3. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical - 3.5L (LX9).
  4. Remove the generator. Refer to Generator Replacement (L61)  or Generator Replacement (LX9) .

  5. Remove the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  6. Remove the drive belt tensioner. Refer to Valve Rocker Arm and Push Rod Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  7. Remove the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  8. Remove the drive belt idler pulley.

  9. Remove the generator bracket bolts.
  10. Remove the generator bracket.
