Circuit/System Verification

- Ignition ON, verify the scan tool can communicate with both SOD sensors.
- If the scan tool can not communicate with the left SOD sensor, refer to Left SOD Sensor Malfunction
- If the scan tool can not communicate with the right SOD sensor, refer to Right SOD Sensor Malfunction
- Ignition ON, verify that the SOD system indicators located in the outside rearview mirrors illuminate briefly and turn OFF during the system self test.
- If both SOD indicators do not illuminate briefly during the system self test and the DIC displays SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM OFF, the SOD system has been disabled from the DIC by the driver and is operating normally.
- If both SOD indicators illuminate and remain illuminated after the system self test and the DIC displays CLEAN SIDE BLIND ZONE ALERT SYSTEM, check for contamination on the fascia and sensor surface, making sure they are clean.
- If the SOD indicators do not illuminate briefly during the self test, refer to Left SOD Indicator Malfunction or Right SOD Indicator Malfunction .
