Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2004 GMC Safari and 2004 Chevrolet Astro. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: Refer to FASTENER NOTICE in Cautions and Notices.
  1. Install the coolant temperature sensor to the cylinder head.

    Tighten:  Tighten the sensor to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

  2. Snap the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector to the intake manifold bracket.
  3. Connect the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector to the wiring harness at the intake manifold.
  4. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement in Interior Trim.
  5. Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System .
