Installation Procedure

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 8 other vehicles, including the 2003 GMC Yukon XL, 2003 GMC Yukon, 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe, 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, and 2003 Chevrolet Avalanche. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Install the audio amplifier to the floor console lower bracket.
    NOTE: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Install the amplifier screws.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the screws to 3.4 N.m (30 Ib in).

  3. Install the floor console.
  4. Connect the floor console electrical connector.
  5. Install the screws (1) that retaining the upper console bracket to the lower console bracket.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N.m (18 Ib in).

  7. Install the bolts (1) retaining the console to the I/P.

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the bolts to 4 N.m (35 Ib in).

  9. Install both front console side panel screws (1).

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (18 Ib in).

  11. Move both front seats to the fully forward.
  12. Install both rear console side panel screws (2).

    Tighten 

    1. Tighten the retaining screws to 2 N.m (18 Ib in).

  14. Reposition the inboard seat track trim (1).
  15. Connect the audio amplifier electrical connectors.
  16. Connect the floor console electrical connector.
  17. Install the center console end panel. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE END PANEL REPLACEMENT in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  18. Install the console storage bin. Refer to CONSOLE STORAGE BIN REPLACEMENT (EXPECT PRO) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  19. Install the cupholder to the console. Refer to CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (NON-LUXURY) or CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (LUXURY) or CUPHOLDER REPLACEMENT (REAR) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  20. Install the upper console bezel. Refer to BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (NON-LUXURY UPPER) or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (LUXURY UPPER) or BEZEL REPLACEMENT - FLOOR CONSOLE (NON-LUX LOWER) in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  21. Install the radio amp fuse.
  22. If the amplifier has been replaced, perform the audio amplifier set up procedure for the BOSE™ amplifier ONLY. Refer to AUDIO AMPLIFIER SETUP  .
