Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor Replacement

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice . Fastener Tightening Specifications: Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications . Preliminary Procedures Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling . Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement . Reposition the water deflector.
1	Side Impact Sensor Bolt (Qty: 2) Tip: Loosen the bolts in order to remove the sensor. Tighten: 8 N.m (71 lb in)
2	Side Impact Sensor Tip: Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer. Disconnect the electrical connector.

Preliminary Procedures

Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement .
Reposition the water deflector.

Side Impact Sensor Bolt (Qty: 2)
Tip: Loosen the bolts in order to remove the sensor.

Tighten: 8 N.m (71 lb in)

Side Impact Sensor
Tip:

Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
Disconnect the electrical connector.
