SERVICE INFORMATION
IMPORTANT:
This bulletin does NOT apply to vehicles with a Siemens controller. The software within the Siemens controller features a built-in continuous learn procedure. The Delphi controller software does not have this feature so the learn procedure must be performed.
This bulletin is being issued to remind technicians that when an engine control module (ECM) is reflashed or replaced, and the driveplate of the flywheel has been replaced, the crankshaft position (CKP) system variation learn procedure must be performed (refer to CKP System Variation Learn Procedure in SI). If this procedure is not performed, illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) could result.
The following Delphi controllers need to have the CKP system variation learn procedure performed.
The following Siemens controllers DO NOT require the CKP system variation learn procedure.
