Removal Procedure

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Engine Electrical.

IMPORTANT: Plug open brake pipes to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Disconnect the brake pipe nuts from the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).

IMPORTANT: After removing brake pipe nuts, do not excessively pull or bend brake pipes away from master cylinder.

IMPORTANT: Plug open brake pipes to prevent brake fluid loss and contamination.

Disconnect the brake pipe nuts from the master cylinder.
Slide out the locking tab and disconnect the electronic brake and traction control module (EBCM) electrical connector.

IMPORTANT: Do not bend brake pipes.

Remove the ABS control module mounting nuts and the bracket.
Remove the ABS control module from the vehicle.
