ECM Replacement

If the engine control module (ECM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed:

  1. Capture and restore the Option data.
  2. IMPORTANT: The Option data collected from the ECM that was replaced must be restored in the new ECM before programming.
  3. Restore the Option data in the new ECM.
  4. IMPORTANT: Clear any DTCs that may have set after completing the programming procedure.
  5. Enable ECM Reprogramming-Refer to Service Programming System (SPS) .
  6. Start and idle vehicle.
  7. Using the scan tool, perform the Turbocharger Learn Procedure-Refer to Turbocharger Learn .
  8. If necessary, perform the following:
