Wiper Drive System Module Replacement (Impala)

Wiper Drive System Module Replacement (Impala)

Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Remove the wiper arms. Refer to Wiper Arm Replacement .
  2. Remove the air inlet grille panels. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
1 Bolt, Windshield Wiper Module
IMPORTANT: Tighten bolts in sequence as shown upon installation.

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

2 Bolt, Windshield Wiper Module

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

3 Bolt, Windshield Wiper Module

Tighten:  9 N.m (80 lb in)

4 Module Assembly, Windshield Washer System
  1. Raise the forward edge of the windshield washer module assembly out of the plenum panel first followed by disconnecting the wiper motor electrical connector.
  2. Upon installation of the windshield washer module, turn the module 180 degrees, slide the module under the hood and align the rear locator to the backside of the plenum.
  3. Tighten the bolts in sequence as shown.

Tip:  Connect the electrical connector to the wiper motor prior to installing the module assembly back into the plenum.
