Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Chevrolet Monte Carlo and 2007 Chevrolet Impala. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, disconnect the BPPS. With a DMM, measure the voltage at the BPPS Brake pedal position sensor 5-volt reference circuit.
- If less then 5 volts, test the brake pedal position sensor 5-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or an open/high resistance. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the BCM.
- If more then 5 volts, test the brake pedal position sensor 5-volt reference circuit for a short to voltage. If the circuit/connections test normal, replace the BCM.
- If all circuits/connections test normal, replace the brake pedal position sensor.
