Body Control Module (BCM) Replacement

WARNING: This page does not describe the selected car, but rather 6 other vehicles, including the 2006 GMC Savana Special, 2006 GMC Savana Camper Special, 2006 GMC Savana, 2006 Chevrolet RV Cutaway, and 2006 Chevrolet Cutaway. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

If the body control module (BCM) is replaced, the following procedures must be performed in the following order:

  1. BCM Reprogramming - Refer to Body Control Module (BCM) Programming/RPO Configuration in Computer/Integrating Systems.
  2. Theft Learn - Refer to Programming Theft Deterrent System Components in Theft Deterrent. A new BCM will learn the Passlock(tm) information automatically but the powertrain control module (PCM) must still learn the theft information from the BCM.
