Procedure to Set Up a New Theft Deterrent Module

Use this procedure only if replacing the TDM with a new replacement part. This procedure will set up the new TDM based on the vehicle region.
NOTE:
When replacing a theft deterrent module (TDM) with a new replacement part, the TDM will learn the vehicle keys immediately. The existing engine control module (ECM) must learn the new fuel continue password when the TDM is replaced. This is completed by performing the 10 Minute Re-Learn Procedure after set up.
- Connect the scan tool to the vehicle.
- Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
- With the scan tool, select Module Setup under the Theft Deterrent Module menu. Follow the scan tool on screen instructions.
- Perform the 10 Minute Re-Learn Procedure.
