Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement

Inflatable Restraint Instrument Panel Module Replacement

Callout Component Name
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice .
Fastener Tightening Specifications:  Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications .Preliminary Procedures: Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 5 .
1 Retainers, Instrument Panel Insulator Panel (Qty: 3)
2 Panel, Instrument Panel Insulator
3 Screws, Instrument Panel Compartment (Qty: 4)

Tighten:  2 N.m (18 lb in)

4 Compartment Assembly, Instrument Panel
5 Bolts, Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint Module (Qty: 2)

Tighten:  10 N.m (89 lb in)

6 Module, Instrument Panel Inflatable Restraint
Tip: 
  1. Release tabs while pushing up module.
  2. Fully deploy the module before disposal. If the module was replaced under warranty, fully deploy and dispose of the module, after the required retention period. Refer to Inflator Module Handling and Scrapping .
