Oil Pressure Sensor: Service and Repair



Engine Oil Pressure Sensor and/or Switch Replacement

Removal Procedure

Important: Clean the area around the sensor. Do not allow debris to enter the engine.







1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .
2. Disconnect the engine harness electrical connector (2) from the oil pressure sensor.
3. Remove the oil pressure sensor (1).



Installation Procedure





1. Apply sealant to the threads of the oil pressure sensor, if necessary. Refer to Sealers, Adhesives, and Lubricants (Specifications) for the correct part number.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice .

2. Install the oil pressure sensor (1).

Tighten the sensor to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).

3. Connect the engine harness electrical connector (2) to the oil pressure sensor.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Check and add engine oil, if necessary.
