Removal Procedure

    CAUTION: Make sure to confirm that the components are cool and work.
    CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution .
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  3. Remove the charge air system hoses and ducts. Refer to Charge Air Cooler Inlet Pipe and Outlet Pipe Replacement .
  4. Remove the PCV valve and adapter. Refer to Positive Crankcase Ventilation Hose/Pipe/Tube Replacement .

  5. Remove the glow plug heat shield.

  7. Disconnect the glow plug wiring harness.

    IMPORTANT: If it is necessary to remove the No. 3 and No. 4 glow plugs, the turbocharger must be removed to gain access. Refer to Turbocharger Replacement .
  9. Remove the glow plug.
