Circuit/System Testing

Door Ajar Malfunction

  1. Ignition ON, with all doors closed, verify the scan tool Driver Door Ajar Sw., Passenger Door Ajar Sw., Left Rear Door Ajar Sw. and Right Rear Door Ajar Sw. parameters are Door Closed.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
    • Driver door latch terminal 6.
    • Left rear door latch terminal 4.
    • Passenger door latch terminal 1.
    • Right rear door latch terminal 1
  2. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate door latch.

Rear Door Ajar Malfunction

  1. Ignition ON, with all doors closed, verify the scan tool Left Rear Door Ajar Sw. and Right Rear Door Ajar Sw. parameters are Door Closed.
    • If not the specified value, test the signal circuit terminal listed below for a short to ground. If the circuit tests normal, replace the BCM.
    • Left rear door latch terminal 4.
    • Right rear door latch terminal 1
  2. If all circuits test normal, test or replace the appropriate door latch.
