Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement

Inflatable Restraint Front End Sensor Replacement

Callout Component Name
WARNING:

Do not strike or jolt the inflatable restraint front end sensor. Before applying power to the front end sensor make sure that it is securely fastened. Failure to observe the correct installation procedure could cause SIR deployment, personal injury, or unnecessary SIR system repairs.

Preliminary Procedure Disable the supplemental inflatable restraint (SIR) system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
1 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Bolt (Qty: 2)
CAUTION:

Refer to Fastener Caution .


TIP:  Loosen the bolts in order to remove the sensor, the bolt is integral to the sensor.
Tighten 
8 N.m (71 lb in)
2 Supplemental Inflatable Restraint Front End Discriminating Sensor Assembly (Qty: 2)

Procedure

  1. Remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector.
