Removal Procedure

CAUTION: Use care when handling the coolant sensor. Damage to the coolant sensor will affect the operation of the fuel control system.

  1. Drain the coolant system to below the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LNF) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill-LE8, LE9) or Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716 Fill) .
  2. Reposition the air cleaner assembly from the top of the engine.
  3. If equipped with a automatic transaxle, disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector (1).

  5. If equipped with a manual transaxle, disconnect the ECT sensor electrical connector (1).

  7. Remove the ECT sensor.
