Inflatable Restraint Sensing and Diagnostic Module Replacement

WARNING: Refer to SIR Warning .

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  2. Remove the front floor console. Refer to Front Floor Console Replacement (Traverse) or Front Floor Console Replacement (Acadia) or Front Floor Console Replacement (Enclave) or Front Floor Console Replacement (OUTLOOK) .
  3. Remove HVAC floor duct.
  4. Position carpet in order to access sensor.
  5. Disconnect the electrical connector.
1 Inflatable Restraint Sensor and Diagnostic Module Nut (Qty: 3)
CAUTION: Refer to Fastener Caution .

Tighten:  10 N.m (88 lb ft)

2 Inflatable Restraint Sensor and Diagnostic Module Assembly

Procedure

  1. When installing, ensure the arrow on the module is pointed towards the front of the vehicle.
  2. If installing a replacement module, program the module. Refer to Control Module References .
