Installation Procedure

    IMPORTANT:

    Make sure the locating pin on the steering column assembly (2) is aligned with the TDM (1).

  1. Install the TDM (1) to the steering column assembly (2).

    CAUTION:

    Refer to Fastener Caution .

  3. Install the TDM to steering column assembly retaining screw (3).

    Tighten 

    Tighten the screw to 1 N.m (9 lb in).

  4. IMPORTANT:

    Rotate the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket counter-clockwise to disengage the locking tangs and pull to detach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM.

  5. Detach the ignition lock cylinder lamp socket (2) from the TDM (1).
  6. Connect the theft deterrent module (TDM) electrical connector (4).
  7. Install the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Cover Replacement .
  8. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Primary) , Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Auxiliary) .
  9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling .
  10. Program the TDM. Refer to Theft Deterrent Module Programming and Setup .
